Volunteering as an Alternative to Internships

Last week, we looked at alternative options to an internship. We explored some of the options available and one of them was volunteering!

Having completed some volunteering myself, I strongly believe it is a great way to gain invaluable experience into different aspects of society and can be a great way to connect with new people in the industry!!

There are some fantastic volunteering programs available for both students and non-students!

One great program, which combines both volunteering and interning is run by a company called GVI.

GVI runs a range of educational programs aimed at increasing knowledge, helping others and gaining exposure. They offer overseas volunteering and unpaid internship options. Thus, they have several flexible options which are sure to have something that suits your needs!

So, if you are passionate about gaining experience into your industry, or would like to learn a little bit more about yourself and how others live across the world, then an overseas volunteering program may be a much better option for you than an internship!

However, GVI is only one of the many options available to you! Our advice is to do your research and find a program that fulfils your ambitions, career expectations/goals, and requirements.

If you require some assistance looking into your overseas volunteering options, please do not hesitate to contact us via our WordPress or Facebook Page.
